Cindy Chappel is a person of heart.
Her famous baked goods have been a Lodi staple for the past three years and we are pleased to have her amazing scones and croissants at School Grounds Coffee.
As a retired teacher, she found a new passion in creating fresh and health conscious pastries that come from a place of love. Fresh food "takes people back to their family connections," Chapel said. "It's basic. It's love. It's comfort."
"That's the best part of showing up somewhere with a tray of fresh baked food. People go crazy so that makes me feel good."
Her almond croissants are what she finds is her best seller but she is seeing her scones building in popularity as well. She is also growing on her gluten free baking, trying new flours and working on perfecting the taste and consistency. Based on the demand, her gluten free fans approve.
Even though she works around 12-14 hours a day, she loves what she does. She uses fresh, organic produce from Lodi Farmers Markets and bakes with unbleached flour and other high quality ingredients.
Her almond croissants, scones, gluten free breakfast bars and cookies are available everyday at School Grounds Coffee.
